Just finished reading Skinny Bitch, and what might you ask has this book taught me?
coffee addict? = don’t be! Drink decaf. green tea instead.
try not to drink alcohol…and if you must, then drink ORGANIC RED WINE!
you need to exercise. There is no way around it, a healthy lifestyle is an active one.
EAT FRUIT! preferably for breakfast/in the morning…and generally 30 minutes before a meal (on an empty stomach).
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS READ THE INGREDIENTS!
refined sugar (aka artificial sugars) = MAKE YOU FAT. Choose natural sweeteners like maple syrup, stevia, and agave nectar.
high fructose corn syrup = NEVER! do not ever intake this artificial sugar.
SAY NO TO LOW FAT & FAT FREE PRODUCTS! They are often more unhealthy, and more fattening due to the arterial clogging/cancer causing elements in their ingredients that slow down digestion.
try not to eat meat more than 3 times a week. Most Americans eat twice as much protein as necessary, making high-protein intake one of the leading causes of obesity (also causes clogging to the kidneys).
Got MILK? no.no.no.no.no! the undigested lactose and the acidic nature of pasteurized milk encourage the growth of bacteria in our intestines. EWWW! try to wean your body off lactose (even radioactive particles are found in milk).
Dairy blocks iron absorption. Causing issues such as anemia, something I myself am struggling with (low energy levels, loss of hair etc.)
milk = fat. cheese = fat. butter = fat.
craving ice cream? I’m a meat eater, but I don’t eat any dairy… so I suggest you try “soy delicious” ice cream. It’s a dairy knock-off, and is also sugar free!
Freshly squeezed juices are a good detox. There are so many detox diets out there, it’s important to research which one suits you best.
DRINK DRINK DRINK LOTS OF WATER! (8 cups a day)
food order: breakfast = fruits. Lunch = salad. Dinner = “heaviest” meal.
Do you often burp after a meal? WELL SLOW THE FUCK DOWN, and breathe when you eat :)
WAIT to eat breakfast until you’re truly hungry.
buying organic produce is the only way to guarantee you’re not eating genetically modified organisms.
The quotes I enjoyed the most:
“Don’t be a SKINNY BITCH. There is nothing uglier than a pretty woman who’s nasty. If you look great, you should feel good about yourself and BE HAPPY!”
“You are what you eat. You are what you THINK.”
“Use your head. Lose your ass.”
“Recognize that anything worth having is worth fighting for.”
and most importantly, PAY ATTENTION to the negative effects your current diet and lifestyle have on your body, moods, and energy level. That way you’ll start to understand what it is you need to change. In order to be happy with your exterior body, you need to start working from the inside.
